Parabolic SAR

Basically, parabolic SAR is used to indicate trend on a certain pair in forex trading. But I never use it for that purpose. Since this indicator is not that accurate in giving me buy or sell signals with great result. However, it is very useful to help us indicating when the right time to exit market is.

'SAR' stands for Stop and Reverse. The indicator was developed by Welles Wilder, creator of RSI and ADX. Parabolic SAR is more popular for setting exit targets than for establishing direction or trend. While others recommend to establish the trend first, and then trading with Parabolic SAR in the direction of the trend. If the trend is up, buy when the indicator moves below the price. If the trend is down, sell when the indicator moves above the price.

I used ADX to determine when is the right time to enter the market and Parabolic SAR to determine when is the right time to exit.

If you have sell position, when parabolic SAR indicator is below market price then it is the right time to exit from market. And vice versa, if you have buy position, when parabolic SAR indicator is above market price then it is the right time to exit market.

The Ten Instructions After Your Otoplasty (Ear Pinning) Surgery

The correction of protruding ears, also known as otoplasty or ear pinning surgery, is a simple plastic surgery procedure that has a dramatic visual effect and an equally significant improvement in one's self-image. By repositioning the cartilage of the ear with sutures through an incision on the back of the ear, the angle of the ear as it protrudes from the side of the head can be altered to a more favorable setback position. The effect is instantaneous, both on the operative table as well as when the ear dressings come off. Here are my after surgery instructions that I provide to my otoplasty patients.

1. A circumferential head dressing will be placed on at the end of the surgery to protect the ears in their new position. In adults and teenagers, this dressing can be removed the next day. In children, the head dressing will stay in place for 1 week. (if they can stand it for that long!)

2. Dissolvable sutures are used behind the ears so suture removal is not necessary.

3. Once the head dressing is removed, the ears still need to be protected. In children, a 'ski band' or head band is to be worn as much as possible for the next 2 weeks. In adults, this form of protection should be worn only at night for several weeks after surgery. If one should accidentally twist an ear or roll over on it during the night, it is possible to loosen or break the sutures with the ear returning to its appearance prior to surgery.

4. Eyeglasses should not be worn for the first week after surgery so they do not rub on the incisions behind the ears.

5. The ears will remain somewhat swollen for up to a month after surgery. Be patient before judging the final result as it takes time for the ears to settle and be less sensitive to the touch.

6. Swimming and other underwater activities should be avoided for two weeks after the surgery.

7. Sports activities that pose a risk for direct ear trauma (e.g., basketball) should be avoided for one month after surgery.

8. Make sure to take and complete your antibiotic prescription. While ear infections are rare, should they occur around cartilage (known as chondritis), they can pose a big problem. Cartilage infections are difficult to eliminate.

9. The need for pain medication is usually quite short-lived in otoplasty surgery. The ears are sore but not acutely painful.

10. The sutures used to reshape the cartilage are permanent. It is uncommon, but possible, for these sutures years later to extrude on the back of the ear. This usually appears as a white knot which is easily removed in the office.

Find What You Want, The Occult Way!

This incident dates back to the eighties, when I was employed in an Airport in a small town in India. One day I received a call from my brother, informing me that my close relative who was in his house, had gone out after a quarrel, and did not return back. He wanted to know whether she had come to my house. I was shocked to hear the news. In fact, she did not come to my house either. I was totally puzzled, not knowing what to do. At that point of time, my assistant in the unit, who was listening to my conversation, offered me the help. He said that he could find my relative, through the help of a lady who had the powers to find out anything that was lost. Honestly, I did not believe him. In any case, in the absence of any other ideas, I accepted his offer and went along with him. He took me to a colony nearby. There was a small house, where I had been taken. One middle aged lady was in the house. She invited both of us inside and asked us to be seated. Looking at me, she said that I had no need to worry and whatever was lost, she would find out and tell me. I simply nodded my head, without any belief.

The lady placed a brass plate in front of her, kept a green banana leaf inside, and applied some black powder like substance on the leaves. Then she closed her eyes and within minutes, went into a trance. Suddenly, she started talking and what I heard from her still rings in my ears,

" Do not worry- She is safe- I can see her sitting inside the house, and there is some argument. She leaves the house now, she is wearing a pink saree, goes on the road, crosses the main road, and after that there is a railway line- there is one big road after that- she goes on that road, now she enters a place full of trees, resembling a forest, but there are houses also. She goes inside one of those houses and I can see her safely there."

I asked whether she knew whose house it was, and the lady replied that the house belonged to one of my relatives by my mother side.

A few days later, my relative came back. We enquired where she had gone. She replied that she went to one of my relative house, exactly as described.

Not only what the lady said was true, she was able to 'see' the entire event ! I was also surprised to know that my relative was wearing a pink saree when she left my brothers house.

There are powers which do exist, beyond the scope of science and its logical and acceptable analysis.

Women of Purpose and Divine Destiny!

As Christian women, we often find ourselves questioning whether or not we have a purpose or a divine destiny in this life. My favorite Scripture is Jeremiah 29:11 which tells us, (paraphrased by the author) that God knows the plans He has for you, they are plans to prosper you and not bring harm to you, in order to give you a hope and a future. We stand upon the Truth of God's Word, and His Truth says we have a hope and a future, a divine destiny ... so to speak.

Maybe up until this point and time in your life, your past hasn't been very good. Maybe you even thought that your future would be based upon your past? I'm here to tell you, it's certainly not. God has created you with a divine purpose to walk out this life on Earth. In order for you to embrace this future, you must first acknowledge that you have one.No one is left out and none of you are overlooked.

However, this world, and the prince of this world, Satan, is attempting to deceive many women into believing that they don't matter, they're not important, and no cares whether they live or die. My friend, those are lies from the pit of Hell, that Satan is using to bring what's called discouragement, upon so many women. You must not allow these lies to settle in to your spirit! If Satan can poison your spirit, he can destroy you. Remember, your foundation is not built upon Satan's sinking sand, it's built upon the solid rock of Jesus Christ and the Promises of God's Word.

God's Word says; you matter, you are important, you have a purpose, you have been given a destiny and you are loved and vital to the Body of Christ.God holds the key to the door of your destiny, not Satan. Your destiny is brought in to fruition through the deep faith you have in God the Father, and not the shallow lies of the enemy. Refuse to believe his lies. Do not allow them to penetrate your heart. He is the father of lies. His goal is to kill your spirit, steal your future and destroy your hope.
Every day when you get up out of bed you are given two choices. The first choice is: "I will sit here today, succumb to complacency and do absolutely nothing to change a single thing in my life", or "I am going to get up out of this bed and I'm going to begin walking towards fulfilling my divine destiny in Christ." Which choice will you make? Maybe for many years, you have subconsciously chosen the first choice? Which ever choice you choose to make, will set in motion the consequence of what will happen later, because of that choice.

As we read through the Bible, we find many examples and instances where people chose their destiny based upon the circumstances that surrounded them. They permitted their circumstances to determine, or set the precedence of their destiny. We must never allow circumstances to determine our destiny. We must allow our faith to change our destiny, by setting ourselves on the path that God has created for our lives. He has a specific destiny for every Christian woman.

If you are God's child, then set yourself upon the path that God has chosen for you to follow. Paul tells us in Philippians 3:13-14 "No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this ONE thing: Forgetting the PAST and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling US."Paul wasn't just referring to himself. He was referring to every one of us! Do you see the depth of this statement made by Paul? In order for him to state that he was forgetting his past, meant he was forgetting all of his failures, his mistakes, his shortcomings, his lack of good judgment, as well as his condemnation.

See, Paul also had to include the time in his past when he held the coats of the men who stoned Stephen. I believe that would have been a very difficult reflection for him to forget.See, Paul did not have the capacity, nor the power to change his past and neither do we. So he forgot it! He gave it to God. He let go and let God take care of it. Step out of your bondage and walk in to freedom. The truth of the matter is this, "we have all experienced failures, we have all made mistakes, we have all used a lack of good judgment at one time or another, and unfortunately, many of us have lived under condemnation".
Jesus came so we could experience forgiveness, freedom and release from the memories that bind us, and hold us as captives that are tightly gripped to a web of strongholds. Get acquainted with your Savior. Spend time with Him. The more acquainted you get yourself with Jesus Christ, the more you will uncover and understand your gifts, your talents and God's anointing. It is His anointing that will give you the ability to walk out your destiny. The anointing is the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives, it has always been symbolized as oil.

This is what teaches us and abides within us. Without it, we can do nothing. Without it, we are powerless. I John 2:27 says, "As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and it true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him."Every single time we are pressed in to doing His Will, instead of our own, the release produces a costly oil that is recognized as the anointing. When we seek Him with all of our being, we will find Him. When we pray with all of our hearts, He will hear us and He will move miraculously on our behalf (Jeremiah 29:13).

When we abide in Him, we begin to understand how His ways are higher than our ways, and how His thoughts are higher than our thoughts(Isaiah 55:9). It was the anointing of the Holy Spirit that infused Jesus with power and effectiveness to walk out His destiny on the earth. It had nothing to do with how educated He was. It had nothing to do with His appearance, but it had everything to do with power and effectiveness. This anointing is not cheap. It comes with a very high cost and we must be women who are willing to pay any price,and do whatever is necessary or required of us, to have this incorporated in to our lives.

Changes may need to occur, which quite presumably may involve our lifestyles, our attitudes, our hearts, our mindsets, our relationships and perhaps even, our ministries. No matter what, we can no longer stand upon neutral ground. We must make a choice. If we desire God's anointing, then we must be prepared to be confronted and faced with His holiness. In order to be changed in to His likeness.There must be a refining that takes place within us. A spiritual cleansing must be welcomed in to our lives.

With this cleansing, comes the anointing. God will anoint those He refines and cleanses. Malachi 3:3 tells us; "He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; and He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver" Cleansing is a prerequisite to the anointing. Without one, we cannot have the other. Psalm 51 10-13 says; "Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence. And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation. And sustain me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners will be converted to You."

After we are refined and cleansed, there will be an extraction that permeates from our spirit, called the anointing. Others, in close proximity to us will be rubbed and smeared with this anointing oil and we will witness lives being changed by seeing the unsaved come to repentance, souls being snatched out of the enemy's hands, hearts being transformed. Which ultimately will produce revival taking place within our churches. How awesome would this be for the Body of Christ?But in order to walk out this destiny, we must first have a vision. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 29:18; that "without a vision,the people perish".

God has a vision for every life. The biggest hindrance we run in to is when we ourselves, stand in the way of the vision, by refusing to see God's dream for our lives. God will expose His vision to anyone who seeks Him and asks Him for it. Ask God to show you the vision He has for your destiny!In order to see God's vision we must apply the eye salve that Revelation 3:18 talks about, as we anoint our eyes to see the bigger picture and plans that God has intended for us. This eye salve removes the veil that has prevented us from seeing God's purpose and destiny for our lives.

Open your eyes and see His plans for you. Get in His Word and stand upon the Promises of God.I believe that God isn't as concerned with ability as much as He is availability. He takes us and creates within us the ability to do what he has called us to do. He's fully aware of our shortcomings, He knows all of our imperfections, yet He still desires to give us a destiny. His eyes are searching for vessels that are poured out before Him, so He can fill them back up with His character, His integrity, and His likeness.Allow God to transform you and fill you with His likeness. Listen to what God is speaking to your heart.

Understand that He has a destiny for your life and you are not a mistake. Embrace His Will. You will only find true satisfaction in your life, when you walk out your divine destiny. Let go of your past and walk in to your future. God is madly in love with you and you are highly esteemed in His eyes! You matter to God. Blessings to all of you!

Smart Women Can Be Action Figures Too!

In my Success Circles, women create vision boards which represent their big ideas, dreams and plans for living a life filled with energy, passion and purpose. I invite them to bring in favorite photos or magazines they enjoy reading, as possibilities for their board. This week, Dawn, a Circle member (and smart woman) brought in "The Big Book of Action Stickers." It was a big colorful book filled with stickers for just about everything you can imagine from animals to people. As I flipped through the pages, it got me thinking about how simple it is to become who you want to be in the world.

Have you ever watched a child take an action sticker and place it somewhere on their body? They instantly become their version of who that sticker represents to them. When my daughter puts on a "Batman" sticker, you better believe that she is Batman. Same thing with Spider-Man (for those of you who know Jenna---she is not going to put on a Cinderella sticker!) Children have this incredible imagination that they can become anything they choose. My son Jack, will tell you with great confidence that he is going to be both a professional baseball and basketball player. You may be reading this and thinking, "Oh well, children have such a big imagination." Yes, they certainly do.

How about you? Do you have a big imagination? Is there something that you would like to create in your life but you just can't seem to get your arms around it? Do you need an Action Sticker with your Action Figure on it to create that excitement within you to do something bold and daring? Are you living your life each day authentically? Becoming who you really want to be in this life---accomplishing any sort of goal really is just a decision. It's developing the mindset to make it happen. When I was a little girl, I remember going on big adventures all over the world. I imagined that I was leading a group of people to these beautiful places where they would make new discoveries. (By the way, I was living in Charleston, West Virginia and riding a Schwinn Purple Fair Lady with a silver metallic banana seat, sporting a white wicker basket!). In my work with women, I support them in their journey to their next big idea, dreams and goals. I'm there to assist them with their new discoveries about their own lives.

It's actually pretty easy to live your life filled with energy, passion and purpose. If you think you can, you will. If you think you can't, you won't. Again, it's about a mindset. It's essential to live your life according to your plan, making room for the people who matter most to you along the way. I invite you to start looking through your own "Big Book of Action Stickers." Find the Action Figure that's right for you. Place it right over your heart, where you can feel it with every breath you take. Who knows? It just might stick...

Anything is possible. Everything is waiting for you.

How Smart Women Stay Busy

I have the good fortune to spend meaningful time with a lot of smart women who keep me on track about what's going on in women's lives. One topic that resonates with many of these women (and with me) is the idea of busyness. This issue is of great interest in my Women's Learning Circles. Not being busy, for many of us, seems elusive - almost selfish. Whether you are a stay-at-home mom, a career woman, or - like most women I know - wearing both hats, you've probably been well indoctrinated with the idea that you must stay busy - all day, every day, no matter what. Why?

In The Power of Purpose, author Richard Leider says "since busyness is a status symbol in our society, even our leisure time is heavily scheduled. It keeps our mind very busy with no time for listening to the inner voice." Sometimes that inner voice we're not hearing wants to give us advice. Sometimes it wants to ask us questions.

If we stay busy all the time, we can't hear this inner voice and can't find time to ponder some of the "big" questions: What brings me passion? What increases my energy? The first two answers that come to my mind are sex and more sleep! Other important questions might include: What do I value most? What are my gifts and how can I use them? What are my priorities? What am I doing to take care of myself, be of service, be fully alive? If I were living 100% authentically, what would that look like? What gives me a creative spark?

There was a time in my life when I could not answer these questions, and that terrified me. I was not fulfilled professionally. I was tired and bored and felt out of sync with the rest of the world. Looking back, I realize that I stayed in this mode for too long because I did not have solutions to create changes and I didn't give myself the time and space to listen to my inner voice.

Did I have ideas percolating during this time? Yes! I thought about how I enjoyed working with women, watching them process their lives and come up with great ideas and solutions with the help of other bright, supportive women. There was a lot of energy around this for me. The thoughts fueled me. Years ago, I was a member of a Women's Circle and I enjoyed it tremendously. But, again, I was too busy being busy to take action on this idea that intrigued me so.

I had my first child at the age of forty. When my son Jack and daughter Jenna were born (now five and three, respectively) I left my career to be a stay-at-home mom. Having children has been one of the greatest gifts I have ever received. In being a mother, I am the student and my children teach me about life every day.

As much as I loved being a stay-at-home mom, I knew that in order to be fulfilled I'd ultimately need to integrate that role with having a career. For me, the way to do that was having my own business - like I had before - but this time around it's a business that I am passionate about. I'm doing work I love with people I care about and I feel fully engaged with this process. Am I busy? You bet! But what I've learned is that it's not about being busy - it's about being busy doing work that is meaningful.

For you, finding the "right kind of busy" may mean having a demanding career, staying home with your children, doing valuable volunteer work, or embarking on something wildly creative. It may mean balancing and integrating several things. Is your work at home, in your career, or in your community adding significance, purpose, and meaning to your life?

My work is about helping women successfully integrate all that they want to do in their lives. One of my goals with this newsletter is for it to be a space for women to share what they know about how to be busy in a meaningful way, about how not to be busy, and about how they successfully balance all the important roles in their lives.

In this issue of the newsletter you'll learn about taking time for yourself by creating a meditation practice. You will read an interview with Pam Yelsky who is an amazing woman doing important work. Guest columnist Lynn Schoener writes about how to create a personal advisory board. You'll also find information on our upcoming Women's Learning Circles - the place to find the support you need to create, maintain, and thrive by having an integrated and balanced life that works for you. We're also excited to announce a new teleclass series for entrepreneurial women which will launch in September.

It is vital that we as women take the time to explore what provides us with meaning, energy, and passion. How Smart Women Pack For Their Journey

I recently traveled with my family for our annual vacation to Telluride, Colorado. An interesting event occurred en route that made me pause and reflect on what we really, truly need. We had arrived at the Denver airport and were transferring from a jet to a small commuter plane. It seated perhaps fifteen people. With all the changes in the rules about carry-on baggage now, one can never be too sure what is or isn't allowed. On this particular flight, we were informed that we were limited to carrying on one item.

One item. Now this was disconcerting. I had thee items: a backpack bursting at the seams with necessities for my children, my purse, and my laptop. Let's take a look for a moment. The backpack contained food, water, diapers, wipes, books, and other comfort items for my children. My purse contained money, credit cards, and my driver's license - in essence, everything I need to prove who I am. And my laptop which contains all my work files and is, not inconsequentially, my link to the outside world.

It was a tough decision. And I wasn't the only one who faced a dilemma. Other passengers were also having a very difficult time deciding what to take and what to stow away in that little space under the plane. People became angry, anxious, and argumentative. The flight proved punishing for so many people in so many ways for so many different reasons. Experiencing this and watching the angst going on around me, I began to think about all of the things I carry around and why I carry them . . . not just for this flight, but through my entire life.

In Richard Leider's book, Repacking Your Bags, he states that "developing one's own vision of the good life is a matter of constant choice. Repacking your bags is not essentially about reaching the destination, but rather about the learning journey."

In my Women's Success Circles, we spend quality time reflecting on our passion, purpose, and plans. Part of this process involves looking at what we have in our lives that we need to keep, what we need to let go of, and what we should add to the mix moving forward. As women move into what Carl Jung called "the afternoon of life" we realize that some of the things that have served us along the way no longer make sense for the next chapter of our lives.

So here are the questions I've been pondering since that flight - questions that I'm now using with my coaching clients: On this journey called life, what are you carrying with you? Have you taken an inventory lately? What are you carrying that you really don't need? What have you been carrying around for far too long, perhaps out of habit and nothing more? Do all the things you carry make you happy and add value to your life? Are there things that you're not carrying that perhaps you should consider adding to your life suitcase? What would you carry if you were living a life filled with meaning and purpose?

By the way, that day on the commuter plane, I chose to take the backpack. I figured I could always buy another laptop and that I didn't need to have my driver's license on my person to know who I am. And I knew I wanted to be sure that my children had food, water, and their little comforts just in case we were delayed. In the past, I was a woman who over-packed for everything. In the afternoon of my life I am becoming very clear about what I need to take on my journey.

Anything is possible. Everything is waiting for you.

Victims of Love and the Shadow of Aphrodite, The Love Goddess

How many of your friends are in bad relationships? How many are single, having escaped from such a relationship? How many are wracked with jealousy and suspicion?

Where do we learn how to be the victims of love?

As little girls we are told of Cinderella, of Beauty and the Beast, of Rapunzel and Snow White, all rescued from the evil of elder women (psychological images of our mothers) by the love of a prince-and some of us are still looking for him.

Where do these stories come from, and what do ancient Greek myths have to do with it?

Aphrodite is known as the Goddess of Love, but she personifies more clearly infatuation and lust, the dark shadow of erotic love, the momentary passion that fades quickly into boredom or hate. Our stories for little girls speak often of first love, first kiss, and the thrill of infatuation. But the stories stop with a wedding, and never present the work that is required by any amount of happily ever after.

Many of the Greek myths speak of Aphrodite's wrath and punishment of anyone who displeases her. Her gift of Helen to Paris caused the ten-years-long Trojan War, but it was also revenge against Helen's father. Aphrodite transformed the heroine Atalanta and her lover into lions to pull her chariot. Aphrodite shed many tears over her young lover Adonis when he was killed by Erymanthos, a man she had turned into a boar because he saw her and Adonis together. Aphrodite was involved in the story of Ariadne, who helped Theseus defeat the Minotaur-Ariadne's Mother was tricked into bearing the Minotaur partly because her grandfather had told Aphrodite's husband that she was cheating.

Like a wild teenager, Aphrodite lives on her passionate whims, lashing out at anyone who is a witness to her infidelities. She does not take any responsibility for her life or her actions. Does that describe your friends? How many of us feel that we must take whatever relationship that comes along?

Aphrodite even personifies the evil mother-in-law in the story of Cupid and Psyche, which contains many of the themes of later fairy tales. Psyche is very beautiful, and is envied by her sisters and everyone who meets her. She is too beautiful for any man to dare to ask for her hand. Some people even begin to compare her to Aphrodite herself, though Psyche is only lonely, wanting only to be happy. When Aphrodite sends Cupid to punish Psyche for being beautiful, he falls for her.

The heroine in fairy tales is always magically beautiful, but in this story, it is Psyche's beauty that is her downfall. She has the usual jealous sisters who are married, but who envy her for her beauty. The sisters are eventually killed off, and Psyche becomes a goddess. We learn that we are never beautiful enough, that our looks are the important part of our being, rather than our character.

Cupid hides his identity from Psyche by insisting that she must never see him, but he sets her up in a magical home that takes care of her every need. We all have an unconscious desire to be taken care of, to be free of working for a living, to live in luxury and leisure. Of course, Psyche's sisters convince her to look at her lover, and he disappears into the night. When Psyche realizes who Cupid is, she searches everywhere for him. Despite his abandonment of her, he is the only man she has ever had, the only one she knows. Finally she goes to Aphrodite to ask how she can get him back.

Psyche is desperate, and she seems to have no resources of her own. So she throws herself on the mercy of her mother-in-law. Like our daughters, Psyche does not know any other story.

Aphrodite puts Psyche to several impossible tasks, sorting out beans, gathering wool and bringing back something from the land of the dead. Psyche of course gets magical help, and Aphrodite must finally accept her new daughter in law. In some of the old fairy tales, the ones that aren't published any more, the prince's mother tries to kill the new princess and her children. We have many stories of evil mothers-in-law and step-mothers, but we are not taught how to appease them or how to overcome their objections.

But in real life, we do have to sort things out, not just beans and lentils, but our own thoughts and perceptions. We don't have physical fairy godmothers to make the magic happen, and we have to face our own shadow side, the part of us that both leads us into darkness and makes us light a lamp to see who our shadow lover is.

We can learn to be conscious of our feelings, of our unrealistic expectations of marriage and family life. We can learn to recognize our own shadow selves by being aware of those people who make us feel irrationally jealous and irritated. We can learn, and we can teach our daughters that the shadow lover who insists on being invisible, coming and going as he pleases, is not good for us. We need to face our own feelings, learn to stand on our own feet, so that when we do enter a relationship, we are not sucked into the jealousy of Aphrodite.

We can learn to be our own goddesses of love, starting with our care of ourselves and our responsibility for making our own choices consciously. We can look past the outdated, Disney-ized tales and sugar-coated sex to learn what love is.

Ultimate Balance For Moms

It's an age-old debate: Should mothers stay home to raise their children or place them in daycare to enter the workforce and help support the family? Many new to embroidery have experienced numerous problems because of the inferior quality of free embroidery design files that they downloaded over the internet. One of the biggest mistakes that many new sewists make is using free designs patterns that have problems built in. Even if you are lucky enough to do everything else right and use inferior designs, results will probably not be good. Many of the free embroidery designs files that one can download are the first efforts of someone that has just begun to digitize and thus are not very well made. Many new to this great hobby use these because they are free and easy to download without using a credit card, but this is where the trouble begins. Then when outlines are off or there are gaps in the sewing and poor results are evident, how does one know where the problem lies? Is it the designs or the stabilizers or even worst - Can it be the new embroidery machine? We have a test so one can determine if the design is at fault or if the stabilizer is the problem. There is a big difference in the way embroidery designs patterns sew out because of how the designs files were digitized. All designs should have a foundation, underlayment stitches that sews before the design itself, to help stabilize the fabric. These underlayment stitches are put in so that the stitches on top have a minimum stretching effect on the fabric, so stabilizing will be easier. - this takes careful planning as one needs to know what top stitches are needed to make the design and what stretching effect this will have on the finished design pattern and fabric. The goal is to put the underlayment in so that the thread art designs on top will have no or very little effect on the fabric. (no puckering, no cupping or off outlines or miss-aligned parts) Without proper underlayment, it is almost impossible for a design to sew out well, even with the best of stabilizing. Another important consideration for sewing ease is thread changes and jump stitches. Skill and careful planning is necessary to eliminate all unnecessary jump stitches and thread changes. So choose your embroidery designs well and avoid the disappointment and frustrations of trying to use poor designs. Even free designs can cost a lot more in time, garments, frustrations and disappointment that a purchased quality one - there really is no comparison in the pleasure you will have while sewing quality embroidery designs patterns.

Jewelry Trends Brief - Fabulous Filigree

Filigree is a classic design element that has recently been revived in the fashion jewelry scene, taking a prominent seat in many designers' winter and spring collections including Argento Vivo and Kendra Scott.

Gold, which was the foundation of many fall jewelry lines, has remained popular within this trend. Virtually all of the filigree designs I have seen have been made from vermeil or gold-plated brass filigree.

There are two reasons why I think we're seeing filigree return right now:

1. Filigree lends itself to the bohemian-chic look that is commonly popular in spring fashion. Designers are getting ready and making the shift from the reserved, sultry looks of fall and winter and back into the lighter designs of spring and summer.

2. One of the major trends for 2006 fashion will be a "return to innocence" of sorts, as our country experiences a sense of nostalgia for less complicated times. Filigree has a very romantic, timeless look that appeals to this collective longing.

Whatever the reason, I'm glad to see it return in popularity. I love to design romantic, timeless jewelry, and filigree absolutely fits the bill. I expect to see it combined with wood, shell and other natural materials in the spring collections of many designers.
